Ian Atwood (Man 2) - A native of the St. Louis area, Ian has now been living and performing in the Cleveland area for over 10 years. He took up refuge here after attending Ohio Northern University where he received his BFA in Musical Theatre. This is Ian's debut here at Blank Canvas Theatre and he would like to thank Patrick for the opportunity, man-love, and support. Favorite credits include Parade (Britt Craig), Assassins (Charles Guiteau), Annie (Bert Healy), Aida (Radames), Jekyll & Hyde (Utterson), Oliver (Bill Sykes), Children of Eden(Adam/Noah) and The Producers (Max Bialystock). But his favorite role of all is that of husband to his amazing wife, Jessica, and parent to his puppies, Captain and Reisling. Look for Ian in Blank Canvas' benefit production of Merrily We Roll Along directed by Marc Moritz, Memorial Day weekend, as well as Cassidy Theatre's production of Anything Goes in June. Douglas F. Bailey II (Man 1) is ecstatic to be returning to the stage at Blank Canvas Theatre, and once again be working with director Patrick Ciamacco. Recently, he has been seen on stage with Mighty Goliath Productions in Oklahoma! (Will Parker), Blank Canvas Theatre in Psycho Beach Party (Kanaka) and Debbie Does Dallas: the Musical (Greenfelt/Biddle/Kevin). Some of his favorite roles include, The Producers (Leo Bloom), ...Spelling Bee (William Barfee), Big River (Huck), and Urinetown: The Musical (Bobby Strong). Douglas also recently made his directorial debut in Cleveland at TNCA with Children of Eden. When not on stage, Douglas spends his time with his beautiful daughter, Matilda. He is elated to be associated with the amazing cast and production team of Working. He would like to thank his friends and family for their continued support and love, especially his roommates, Dan and Sarah. He dedicates his performance in this production to his late father, “The Silver Fox”.
Tasha Brandt (Woman 1) is excited to return to Blank Canvas after appearing in Debbie Does Dallas The Musical (Lisa)! She has been seen in Mercury Summerstock's production of CATS(Jennyanydots), Once Upon A Mattress (The Jester) and The Scarlet Pimpernel(Ensemble). Tasha has also been seen in Children of Eden (Eve/ Mama Noah) at TrueNorth Cultural Arts Center, Anyone Can Whistle at Lakeland Civic Theater, and The Wizard of Oz (Glinda) at Willoughby Fine Arts Association. She has been in numerous shows at Ashland University including The Crucible (Abigail Williams), The Spitfire Grill (Effie), Urinetown: The Musical (Hope) and several others along with MAME at Cassidy Theatre. Sarah Edwards-Maag (Woman 3) – is thrilled to be joining Blank Canvas Theater for the first time in this exciting production. Some of her regional projects include The Scent of Change (Estelle), Personals Uncut (Jessica), and Jekyll & Hyde (Lucy). When she’s not performing one way or another, you can find her spending time with her incredibly awesome, hilarious, and talented husband Keith, enjoying some classic episodes of Psych, relaxing with some audiobooks, or planning her annual Halloween party and trip. They get very involved. She would like to thank her wonderful acting coach Jessica and her second family at the Houde School of Acting; her amazing voice teacher Linda, and of course, her magnificent circle of family and friends, who will never know just how much they mean to her and inspire her every day. Support, encouragement, and unconditional love are immeasurably precious gifts. Enjoy the show!
Joanna May Hunkins (Woman 2) is delighted to be making her Blank Canvas onstage debut, though you may recognize her from selling tickets or concessions since the company opened last season. Previous credits include Cain Park's critically acclaimed Avenue Q(Lucy), Jerry Springer The Opera (Shawntel), The Last Five Years (Kathy), Smokey Joe's Cafe (Pattie), I Sing! (Pepper), and Just So (Dingo Dog). In addition to her acting career, Joanna proudly served as Company Manager to Mercury Summer Stock for many years. A graduate of Baldwin Wallace College, she is currently completing her Masters in Arts Administration at The University of Akron. Joanna has been passionate about this particular show for a long time and is grateful to Patrick for giving her this opportunity to be part of it. Up next: Joanna's cabaret at Cain Park on August 1st entitled Faith, Trust & Pixie Dust.
Derrick Winger (Man 3) is thrilled to be making his debut on the Blank Canvas stage with such a talented cast and crew. He has worked at several area theatres including Coach House Theatre, Weathervane Playhouse, and the Ohio Shakespeare Festival in Akron as well as many more in Western Pennsylvania and New York. Most recently he performed in Putting it Together at Chagrin Valley Little Theatre. Some other favorite Musical Theatre credits include Guys and Dolls (Sky Masterson), The Wiz (Lion), Les Miserablés-SE (Val Jean), Children of Eden (God), The Fantasticks (Matt), Of Thee I Sing (Wintergreen), and Pirates of Penzance (Pirate King). He would like to thank this incredible cast for their constant support and inspiration and his wife, Justine, for being ok with the whole “never-being-home” thing. Enjoy the show!
